There's pretty much nothing more recognizably comfortable and cute as the critters that dwell in the Hundred Acre Woods. We've been falling in love with them over and over again since the 1920s and are certain to keep that love going for decades or more to come!

But, did you know some of the strange histories of how Pooh Bear and his buddies came to be?

First, it may interest you to know that they started based on real creatures! Winnie was a beloved bear in the London Zoo that had come from Canada and was named after a Lieutenant's favorite town, Winnipeg, Manitoba. When the cuddly bear cub was stolen away to England during the First World War, she was donated to the zoo where she quickly became a favorite attraction. Alan Alexander Milne's tyke, Christopher Robin Milne, was so fascinated by the bear that he began a collection of stuffed animals and started with a bear named Winnie.

The characters in the books and later movies were all inspired from the very real Christopher Robin's favorite stuffed toys: a teddy bear named Winnie the Pooh, a not-so-bouncy tiger named Tigger, a set of mother and child stitched kangaroos named Kanga and Roo, a donkey that looks surprisingly exactly like the iconic Eyeore, and a rather flat and tiny pig doll named Piglet. Almost all of the original inspirations can be seen at the New York Public Library... except Roo who went missing ages ago.

The Hundred Acre Wood is technically even real! (Kinda.) It is based on the Ashdown Forest in England and has, no doubt, become one of the most popular tourist attractions in the world. Folks can go to Gill's Lap to see what Galleon's Leap is like or can even try their counting skills to see if they count every one of the trees in Christopher Robin's "Enchanted Place," a surprisingly daunting task!

It's no wonder why everyone has such a love for Pooh Bear. He's kind and friendly and his commitment to his friends is unending... even if he gets rather distracted once his tumbly gets a little rumbly. That's why Rabbit and the rest keep a healthy stock of 'hunny' to help a chubby bear out! That's part of what makes the Hundred Acre Woods so magical!

Our Winnie the Pooh gifts will bring a little piece of the Hundred Acre Wood to your home. We have gifts for people of all ages. Enjoy relaxing and feeling just as comfy as Pooh Bear in a character Kigurumi or pick up some household items that will make your home feel just as welcoming. Newborns will look adorable sporting a Winnie the Pooh onesie and a matching hat, while tweens might love a nice 'hunny' tote to make all their travels especially sweet. Of course, if you're a bit of a collector, you'll find that the usually adorable Pop! vinyl figures take on an extra dimension of cute when they feature these delightful characters. All of these Winnie the Pooh gifts will help bring the popular honey-gobbling Disney character to life!
